David E. Camic

Mr. Camic represents clients in criminal trials, including felonies and misdemeanors in Illinois and New York state and federal courts. Mr. Camic's practice includes extensive experience in both bench and jury trials. In fact, he holds the record for one of the shortest jury acquittals in Illinois in seven minutes. In addition, Mr. Camic has represented many clients in both state and federal appeals. Mr. Camic has been a frequent speaker at seminars for professional associations including the Kane County Bar Association, the Peoples Law School , and local schools and organizations.

Mr. Camic has taught Criminal Law at Aurora University and has previously taught Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure at Elgin Community College. In addition, he has taught police officers, state's attorneys and public defenders the laws of DUI in Illinois.

Mr. Camic was the Chairman of the Criminal Justice Section of the Illinois State Bar Association and was Treasurer of the Illinois Attorneys for Criminal Justice. Mr. Camic chaired the Kane County Bar Association Criminal Practice committee from 1991 through 2003, and is still a member of that committee. He presently serves on the Association's Board of Directors. Mr. Camic has been accepted as a member of the National College of DUI defense.

Representative Clients:
Mr. Camic's clients have included elected and appointed officials, lawyers, dentists, teachers, priests and judges. In addition, Mr. Camic has represented prosecutors and police officers. Mr. Camic has experience in capital cases, complex financial cases, narcotics cases and state and federal conspiracy cases. Additionally, Mr. Camic handles about 200 DUI cases every year.

Community Involvement:
Mr. Camic has been active in the Peoples Law School and high school trial competitions. He and Mr. Johnson have also managed or consulted on several successful local political campaigns.
