Camic Johnson Law
Camic Johnson Law has evolved from a partnership that began in 1987. The firm emphasizes trial practice in state and federal courts in Illinois and sister states. The firm includes five full-time lawyers plus Mr. Bloom and Mr. Wilson, who are of counsel to the firm. Several members of the firm primarily practice criminal law. Other members practice criminal law, family law and personal injury law. Mr. Camic, Mr. Johnson, and Mr. Bloom practice primarily criminal trial law and all four have been selected by their peers as Leading Illinois Attorneys.
The firm also includes members who practice juvenile law, debtor/creditor law, civil litigation, and personal injury as well as corporate clients. The partners of the firm regularly act as co-trial counsel with several leading personal injury attorneys. The firm maintains an extensive appellate and post-conviction practice, which has included several appellate court reversals and trial court orders of new trials where the firm has filed appearances to take over cases from other lawyers following adverse judgements.
The firm's criminal trial partners have represented clients in complex and high-profile cases. The firm's clients have included police officers, priests, school officials, gang leaders, multiple murders, lawyers, and judges.
The partners of Camic Johnson Law bring extensive experience to the firm: Mr. Johnson was the elected State's Attorney of Kane County; Mr. Camic was a police officer for several years; and Mr. Bloom has been on the faculty of The John Marshall Law School, teaching trial practice to lawyers. The other members of the firm also bring extensive experience to the practice. Mr. Barsanti spent 21 years as a prosecutor, leaving that office as First Assistant and considered their best trial lawyer. Mr. Puscas has been a police officer and an Assistant States Attorney prior to concentrating in civil litigation for a number of years. Ms. Parga practiced public interest law and was Assistant Public Defender following her graduation from one of the top ten law schools in the United States. Mr. Neary has been a Public Interest lawyer, an Assistant Public Defender, an Assistant States Attorney, and has managed a public interest law firm.
The firm's trial members have lectured on criminal law at seminars and programs for various bar associations, community groups, and agencies. Members have published articles and comments in several legal publications. The firm maintains an extensive electronic library and maintains close contact with experts in medicine, forensics and the sciences.
The firm of Camic Johnson Law maintains high standards for itself. The firm believes that when a client retains one of its attorneys, the client retains all of the attorneys in the firm, and the entire firm is committed to that client. The firm believes that it is not only the client who is on trial, but the firm's reputation. |
